JPMorgan Chase Director of Software Engineering, Cash and Check Management in Columbus, Ohio

As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Cash and Check Line of Business, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.

Job responsibilities

  • Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives

  • Manages decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures

  • Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations

  • Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains

  • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams

  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.

  • Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists. Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.

  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent

  • Deep expertise building and operating large scale high performance environments with distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)

  • Deep expertise with enterprise design patterns and industry best practices with experience using modern technology (e.g., Java, Cassandra, Kafka) and design patterns (e.g., microservices, APIs).

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment leading/working with geographically distributed teams.

  • Experience with building, leading and mentoring technology teams and next level leaders within the organization.

  • Experience with implementing industry standard risk, cybersecurity & technology controls.

  • Strong organizational and management skills.

  • Experience building large scale public cloud systems
