JPMorgan Chase Principal Software Engineer - Payment Platforms (Cloud/AWS) in Atlanta, Georgia

Job responsibilities

  • Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design frameworks

  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

  • Advises cross-functional teams on technological matters within your domain of expertise

  • Serves as the function's go-to subject matter expert

  • Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies

  • Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that are leveraged across teams and functions

  • Influences leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams

  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers in microservices, kubernetes, and service mesh technologies

  • Provide hands-on technical expertise in the Design & Development of mission critical applications that can scale operate with up time of 99.999% and processing 2000+ transactions per second

  • Identify and mitigate technology-related risks by implementing robust security measures and compliance standards.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience

  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

  • Expert in one or more programming language(s)

  • Advanced knowledge of software application development and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex technology problems in one or more technical disciplines

  • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager

  • Ability to present and effectively communicate with Senior Leaders and Executives

  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

  • Practical cloud native experience and Certified in Public cloud (preferably AWS Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional)

  • Proven track record with 10+ years in Tech Leadership role, leading a 24X7 mission critical application that processes 1000+ Transactions per second with a sub-second response time

  • Expert knowledge and Hands-On experience building applications in cloud using Kubernetes, Service mesh, Kafka, API Gateways, SQL/NoSQL DB

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Expertise in Envoy Service mesh and its implementation to build a highly resilient system

  • Expertise and In-depth knowledge in PostgreSQL

  • Expertise using monitoring tools such as Dynatrace
