J.P. Morgan Custody & Fund Services (CFS) - global leader with $22 trillion in assets under custody, provides Institutional investors access to markets worldwide for the settlement, safekeeping and asset servicing of securities, along with ancillary services such as Foreign Exchange and Liquidity Solutions. The CFS business is comprised of Custody, Accounting, Transfer Agency, Middle Office outsourcing, Foreign Exchange, and other activities related to servicing assets for traditional and alternative funds; it leverages its scale and capabilities in more than 100 markets to help clients optimize efficiency, mitigate risk and enhance revenue through a broad range of investor services as well as securities clearance, collateral management and alternative investment services.
The CFS Operations Change team is embarking on a strategically important global, multi-year programme to improve Operational STP, efficiency and automation. Central to this programme will be the delivery of an E2E strategic data transformation agenda for the Billing function. A key enabler of the programme will be the appointment of strong and experienced Project Managers to develop key program assets, execute on core transformation deliverables on time and to a high degree of quality, and shape the longer-term change landscape for CFS Operations.
Key responsibilities include
Defining the scope and approach for key initiatives across the broader change Book of Work
Shape the long-term data transformation agenda for the Billing function
Developing Business Cases to support and inform key change initiatives
Owning and coordinating the development of key program assets and collateral (including project initiation documentation, milestone plans, risk logs) for senior audiences
Managing relationships with a range of stakeholders, include within the Ops Line and at Executive Level
Project Management of key change deliverables and co-ordination of resources to ensure deliveries timely, complete and of high quality
Investigating business problems to define key challenges and identify solutions - translating findings into robust process maps, functional / technology architecture, operating and control model documentation – and other similar documentation
Visualizing key messages (problem statements, solutions) – through Excel, Power Point and Visio – for broader (including executive level) consumption
Presentation of key messages to a wide audience – including executive level stakeholders
Analysis of large data sets to extrapolate and apply key trends / quantitative evidence to project deliverables – including business cases, performance / control reporting
Defining and tracing data lineage across multiple functions, end-to-end
Application of best-practice techniques and methodologies to project management
Completion of regular project-level status reporting
Escalation and articulation of key risks / issues to Senior Management
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a structured approach to problem solving and have excellent written and oral communication skills. The candidate should have a strong track record of delivery high-quality and complex projects, on time and to a high degree of quality. Experience within a Billing function, and /or with complex Data Lineage / Data transformation exercises is highly desirable. Exposure to financial services change management is also desirable. The individual should be confident in dealing with staff at all levels, with a “can-do” personality to ensure issues get resolved and a strong sense of ownership. We work to fixed deadlines set both internally / externally so it is crucial that the candidate is able to work under pressure.
