JPMorgan Chase Asset Associate II in Brooklyn, New York

The focus of the group is one of Asset Servicing risk management with additional focus on clients and client satisfaction. This particular position is in the securities Services middle office for asset servicing and relates to the global business. It should be stressed that the group is in support of both clients and operations. There is a far greater slant to the management of the operational and client risk of this business and a great deal of effort is necessary to ensure tight controls around the numerous flows of the various structures and teams.

Strong analytical thinking coupled with strong communication skills are required to balance client risk, reconcile issues across platforms and respond to numerous client and operational inquiries. In addition, the ability to understand and manage the multitude of complex corporate actions that get processed on a daily basis. The candidate must possess strong Asset Servicing experience, specifically with regards to Securities Services.

The responsibilities of the position are:

  1. To manage the process and reconciliation of daily corporate actions and also ensure their accuracy.

  2. To understand the security movements and cash flows associated with each corporate action and to respond to inquiries.

  3. To ensure any client instruction issues for corporate actions are resolved and processed.

  4. To be able to perform reconciliations, review event terms, communicate with clients, business partners and client service managers

  5. To be able to work within a team and lend assistance as needed as workflows increase for other team members

  6. Ability to manage high risk events from end to end, ensure issues are escalated and take ownership through resolution

  7. Ability to discuss risk management of complex corporate action events with high profile risk exposure.

  • At least 4-6 years of corporate action management / operational experience

  • A basic understanding in client service is essential

  • The desire to learn about different types of corporate actions and how they work

  • Self-starting team player

  • Analytical and quantitative aptitude

  • Adaptability to learn new tasks and demonstrate a willingness to understand the detail of a process.

  • Control focused

  • Understanding of process flows: Ability to look at the overall process and explain it to others.
