Group overview :

The Capital Management functions oversees the risk-weighted asset (“RWA”) and capital measurement processes across the Firm, and help ensure efficient and appropriate management of our capital.

The primary objectives of the Capital Management Team are to provide:

  • Streamlined, well-controlled, and accurate reporting of RWA and capital ratios and forecasts to management, Regulators, Lines of Business (“LOBs”) and others

  • Guidance and advisory support to the Firm in developing a robust reporting framework and will also be a main contact for external reporting queries about the activity from stakeholders

  • Coordinated Firmwide and legal entity projections of capital and RWA

  • Leadership on all aspects of Firm wide capital stress-testing including both internal and regulatory requirements

  • More frequent delivery of certain RWA calculations

  • Enhanced documentation and tracking of policy interpretations and model usage

  • Timely expertise and responses to LOB requests to calculate RWA for new transactions

  • Guidance on LOB-specific sensitivities to key business actions as well as deep-dive training on rules and models

Within Capital Management, the Capital Controllers team includes multiple functions:

  • Capital Planning & Analysis: Responsible for forecasting capital, Basel III Standardized & Advanced RWA and supplementary leverage (“SLR”) across the firm, partnering with Corporate P&A where appropriate, including:

  • Short-term and long-term forecasting of capital, RWA (Standardized & Advanced) and supplementary leverage (“SLR”) across the Firm, lead Bank and legal entities

  • Delivery of capital materials and analysis for quarterly Earnings Press Release including capital and ratios results for senior management

  • Corporate Capital Controllers: Oversee end-to-end control environment as it applies to Basel RWA including data quality, adjustments and manual processes, results attestation and implementation of control processes in support of policy documents

  • Partner with firmwide partners to develop and implement operating models to support the production and reporting of accurate capital and RWA

  • Review of the Firm’s response to Quantitative Impact Studies (QIS) and assist in coordinating consortium and external benchmarking and outcomes analysis

  • Participate in the preparation and review of external reporting

  • Perform variance analysis QA (including narratives) of the Firm’s Standardized & Advanced RWA, SLR and capital ratios and capital on a quarterly basis

  • Capital Strategy: Conduct ad hoc analytics in support of:

  • Corporate CFO and Investor Relations team in all presentations to external constituencies

  • Capital Management Policies, including internal minimum targets

  • New rules and proposed changes to existing regulatory capital rules

  • Capital Analytics & Attribution: Oversee development and implementation of a comprehensive, integrated capital attribution framework, corresponding methodologies, and processes

Overall Project management responsibilities :

The project management associate will be responsible for executing all steps of the project life cycle (initiation, planning, business requirements, functional design, build, test planning & execution and implementation) including but not limited to the following:

  • Provide business and data analysis to large, cross line of business initiatives; analyzing and documenting key business discussions and requirements, managing timelines, risks, issues, and dependencies tracking action items and other project related materials.

  • Defining project scope, stakeholders, risks and issues

  • Defining project plan for a small project or a workstream of a large project

  • Quality executing against a project plan

  • Identifying and managing project risks, issues and dependencies

  • Manage communication of status updates to stakeholders and Senior Management

  • Development/review of detailed operating model from a business and process perspective

  • Partner with stakeholders, providing guidance and analysis, helping identify and escalate issues/risks/dependencies and facilitating communication across teams

  • Partner with technology to ensure the design and build requirements meet business needs

  • Coordinate working group meetings, setting the agenda, preparing meeting materials, documenting minutes and ensuring clear ownership of action items

  • Develop & maintain appropriate documentation supporting implementation initiatives as well as for established processes.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years previous Project Management experience with a financial institution preferred

  • Strong self-starter with an ability to navigate successfully through ambiguity to provide recommendations on project direction

  • Proven ability to think strategically and work across multiple functions, including knowledge and experience in the production of strategic analysis, the ability to problem solve and analyze large quantities of data and / or information.

  • Intellectual agility – Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills with a track record of execution against deliverables

  • Previous experience supporting large projects or leading smaller end to end project

  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project desirable

  • Knowledge of program and project management reporting tools a plus.

  • PM qualification would be advantageous
