As a Risk Management - Capital Risk Lead - Vice-President, you are at the center of keeping JPMorgan Chase strong and resilient. You will support the Chief Risk Officer for Balance Sheet Risk Management in identifying, measuring, monitoring, and controlling risks related to firm's balance sheet and capital. Capital Risk Management is responsible for the independent assessment, measuring, monitoring and control of capital risk across the Firm, ensuring the Firm has the sufficient level or composition of capital to support business activities and associated risks during normal economic environments and under stressed conditions.

Job responsibilities

Monitor capital metrics against capital risk limits and indicators, and escalate breaches

  • Ensure accuracy of capital metrics being reported

  • Perform independent assessment of the firm's capital management activities such as assessment of the firm's internal minimum capital targets and post stress internal minimums, and firmwide and Line of Business capital allocation results

  • Perform deep dives impacting firm's capital such as changes in regulatory requirements, firms risk and/or balance sheet, market dynamics and present to senior management

  • Lead projects to enhance risk and leverage based capital metric monitoring

  • Hold frequent interactions with the key members of capital management, capital P&A, controllers and various support functions

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience in capital, liquidity and/or market risk. Other Risk, Treasury or Finance background will be considered.

  • Knowledge of financial markets and various asset classes

  • Understanding of balance sheet and income statement

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts in practical terms

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop thesis, clearly present ideas and draw appropriate conclusions

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • CFA, FRM, PRM designation helpful, but not required
