JPMorgan Chase Full Stack Software Engineer (JavaScript or Java) in Houston, Texas

Role / Team description:

We're looking for a software engineer who is highly passionate about application design and programming and aspires to contribute towards our firms application modernization and digital transformation agenda. You will part of the Revenue Engineering team, a fast-paced, high energy and diversified group with 60+ technologists globally. You will be building software solutions to provide visualization/analytics/insights/intelligence of revenue and trade measures and automation of sales workflow for 2000+ sales and traders across the globe. You do not necessarily need banking experience but must be highly motivated with a track record of success in software development.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the development of new features and be accountable for the overall success of deliveries including analysis, design, development, deployment, optimization and day to day operations. You will be involved in but not limited to

  • designing conceptual/logical/physical data models

  • building Cloud native applications with micro-services and deploying to Cloud platform

  • building reusable components and front end libraries for future use

  • automating tests and deployments alleviating the need for manual intervention

  • collaborating with other technology teams and product and design team

  • supporting software solutions that are used by 2000+ sales and traders globally

Skills required to be considered for this role:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience developing in JavaScript or Java

  • Hands on UI development - ReactJS, Redux, NodeJS, Webpack or equivalent And/OR hands on experience in Spring, Spring Boot and Maven

Preferred Skills:

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • Experience in one or more technology domains

  • Experience in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines

  • Knowledge of industry wide technology strategies and best practices

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems

  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals

  • Business facing experience is definite plus

  • Must have proven technical expertise in Java, Spring, Spring Boot or Maven

  • Cloud and Micro-services

  • CI/CD tools like Jenkins and version control tools like BitBucket and Git

  • Hands on experience in RESTful architecture and development

  • Good understanding of Oracle or other SQL databases
