JPMorgan Chase Oracle ICM - Site Reliability Engineer in Houston, Texas
As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you'll help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to operations problems. Much of our support and software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and reducing work through automation. You'll join a team of curious problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who are thinking big and taking risks. As an SRE, you'll be focused on running better production applications and systems.
As an Oracle Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) Software Engineer: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you'll focus on stability while coordinating and working alongside the ICM Application Development Team to provide new functionality. Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is both a practice and a role. SRE practices provide a client-centric and data-centric method for prioritizing functional change and reducing technical debt informed by: Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and error budget measures. Software Engineers (in the role) are dedicated to executing SRE practices, achieving SLOs, and striving continuously to improve operational efficiency using good engineering practices.
As an SRE practitioner, you'll ensure system design and deployments take into account scalability, reliability (e.g. single points of failure), fault isolation techniques and reliability patterns testing. You'll build, configure, and deploy telemetry that provides full visibility into system health, performance, and capacity. Increase level of sophistication for pre-event intelligence, event correlation, as well as auto-healing capabilities.You'll also seek to identify and eliminate Toil.
Develop, test, and debug automated tasks (Apps, Systems, Infrastructure)
Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems
Work with development teams throughout the software life cycle ensuring sustainable software releases
Perform analytics on previous incidents and usage patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actions
Build and drive adoption for greater self-healing and resiliency patterns
Lead and participate in performance tests; identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands
Participate in the 24x7 support coverage as needed
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a software engineering discipline
Mastery in at least two or more software languages (e.g. Python, Java, Go, etc.) with respect to designing, coding, testing, and software delivery
Adept in the development of automated tools, systems, and services in multiple technology domains
Advanced knowledge of one or more infrastructure components (e.g. networking, cloud services, orchestration tools, containerization, compute, and storage systems)
Proficiency in service-level changes to a system and troubleshooting components
Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, Oracle Applications EBS, Oracle Cloud Fusion Incentive Compensation Management (ICM)
Strong knowledge of Oracle ICM Preferred (3rd-party) Vendors and payroll applications
At least 5 years of IT experience
3+ years of experience with functional components of Oracle Fusion ICM as well as integrations: Oracle Core HR, ORC, Pay, Time & Absence
Strong knowledge of OA Framework, Java, PL / SQL, Shell, API's, Workflow, Fast Formulas, Interfaces, FTP protocols
