JPMorgan Chase Prime Services Technology Support III in Houston, Texas

As a Technology Support III team member in the Markets, Prime Finance Services team, you will ensure the operational stability, availability, and performance of our production application flows. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement as you troubleshoot, maintain, identify, escalate, and resolve production service interruptions for all internally and externally developed systems, leading to a seamless user experience.

In this role you will be tasked to demonstrate technical and operational expertise to the North America Prime Finance businesses of JP Morgan. This role requires working as part of the North America Prime Finance production management team and working closely with both Technology and Business partners to ensure the timely analysis and resolution of issues raised on a day-to-day basis. The Prime Finance business covers a range of activities including locates management, inventory management, borrow/return optimization, synthetic prime, client reporting, Fixed Income Prime Brokerage and Cash Prime Brokerage with the help of several integrated applications. The technology suite underpinning the businesses is complex and requires strong technical skills to successfully support the proprietary technology. The key success criteria is: day-to-day support of trading desk, application release planning and review, management of crisis events, compliance with the Risk and Controls and a focus on improvements such as stability and automation.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical/operational support to maintain stability for the Front/Middle Office applications.

  • Establish working relationships with other members of the Production Management team within region, other regions and across the wider organization as appropriate.

  • Assist in defining capacity and resiliency requirement metrics and failover/BCP capabilities in partnership with business and AD to improve reliability, stability and capacity management.

  • Develop strong partnerships and communication channels with the business, AD, and other team members.

  • Manage production technology incidents to resolution, ensuring timely engagement, escalation and effective communication to business, technology and vendor partners.

  • Ensure detailed Post Mortem reviews with AD partners and log follow up actions in ServiceNow for Problem Management.

  • Engage with project teams through the SDLC of new applications to ensure successful onboarding into Production.

  • Participate in weekend activities such as disaster recovery testing and application releases.

  • Support applications for end-to-end trade lifecycle including locates, trade booking, synthetic trade booking, client reporting's etc.

  • Work with Application Development (AD) teams to identify and fix to improve stability, reduce operational risk, and reduce manual tasks and 'touches to production'.

  • Monitor and help improve monitoring of the trading application suite to proactively fix potential issues.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3+ years of experience in production support or equivalent expertise troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining information technology services in the financial services industry.

  • Proven experience in stock borrow/loan, synthetic prime brokerage product knowledge, Cash, Fixed Income, and Client Reporting.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Experience in supporting Trade booking platforms

  • Excellent knowledge of SQL and stored procedures (experience with Sybase and Oracle databases)

  • Excellent knowledge of UNIX (experience with Linux essential)

  • Strong software and business systems design, analysis, development and support skills required

  • Strong working knowledge of ITRS monitoring system

  • Strong Perl and Shell scripting skills

  • Strong knowledge of networking, connectivity and low latency trading
