JPMorgan Chase Infrastructure Engineer III in Jersey City, New Jersey

As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Technology and Infrastructure Platforms Line of Business, you will have an exciting opportunity to leverage your extensive knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes. You will apply your technical expertise across a range of applications and be part of a dynamic team where your problem-solving methodologies can make a real impact. This role provides the opportunity to work on projects of moderate scope, focusing on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensuring end-to-end monitoring of applications.

Job responsibilities

  • Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications

  • Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path

  • Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems

  • Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications

  • Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses

  • Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications

  • Is accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications

  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience

  • Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments

  • Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)

  • Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds

  • Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledge

  • Knowledge of modern architecture constructs such as service orientated architectures(SOA), domain modelling (UML) and APIs (Swagger, OpenAPI)

  • Experience on design and delivery of cloud native and API driven applications, services and platforms.

  • Proficient in one of the few technologies listed Cloud technologies (VMware, AWS, Azure, Google) Automation frameworks (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, SCCM) Operating Systems (Linux / Windows) Security ( Identity and Access Management) Web & Application Servers (Apache / IIS / Tomcat) Database (SQL / NoSQL) Messaging (Kafka / Kinesis / MQ) Monitoring (Prometheus, OEM, Open Metrics) Networking (TCP/IP, Software Defined Network)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Expert in making Architecture goals consumable through iterative delivery across all levels of the organization.

  • Experience in process re-engineering efforts, complex project delivery, organizational change best practices.
