The Chief Technology Office (CTO) oversees enabling technology capabilities inclusive of engineering and architecture tools and practices, public cloud technology services, application program interfaces, as well as the firm's technology workforce strategy. This includes improving the firm's use of the Public Cloud, APIs, the Developer Toolchain, AI/ML, Blockchain, Enterprise Data Technology, IT Service Management, and more.
The Strategy & Process Improvement team works within the CTO Strategy, Governance, and Execution office . The team provide strategic consultation for CTO to drive innovative solutions that deliver meaningful and measurable results. Services include, but are not limited to, product presentations, whitepapers, strategy assessments, and special projects.
The Strategy & Process (S&PI) Manager is a strategic leader and partner who can orchestrate and influence the development, alignment, and prioritization of strategies/efforts across CTO, an organization within Global Technology (GT). This role will apply knowledge of best practices to define and shape the overall strategy, governance, organization structure, operating model, architecture and processes for the CTO organization.
Serve as the internal strategy consultant and business partner to CTO organization
Develop and manage strategies, narratives, and business cases to obtain leadership support, resources, and investment
Design actionable roadmaps that teams can utilize to deliver business value
Lead teams to provide technology strategy to meet their unique organizational needs
Oversee and lead the scoping of complex, special/strategic projects and secure stakeholder and working team engagement and alignment
Drive strategic projects by providing structured decision making backed by strong hypotheses
Synthesize information and analyses into creative business insights and recommendations
Keep up to date on industry and technology trends to support JPMC's businesses
Self-manage professional development and development of IT knowledge
Provide processes, support, and reporting to enable the business to achieve its goals
Experience in cross-functional teams and ability to influence people at a variety of levels
Demonstrated ability to establish and build relationships and establish strong partnerships
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience. Masters preferred
Expert knowledge in all business processes across an entire line of business, as well expertise in other lines of business and technology disciplines
Understanding of global and line of business project and program management standards and methods
Experience working with high-performing teams in complex program execution
Strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile methods; stakeholder management; budget management, risk management and operations
Ability to create and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the firm
Understanding of a range of business asset classes (preferably front office or middle office functions) is beneficial.
Proven ability to drive a project/program from Initiation through to Closure, defining certainty from ambiguity and managing stakeholder demands and expectations as the requirements evolve. Experience of supporting effective test planning and execution is helpful.
Understanding of both waterfall and agile techniques, preferably with experience of the application of both in a project/program environment.
Experience of working in global, matrix managed, teams across multiple regions and countries, enabling a 'one team' culture and a positive working environment, respecting the cultures and capabilities across locations.
Excellent problem solving skills, ability to quickly broker solutions and resolve conflict situations.
Proven track record of establishing appropriate oversight and control, metrics and driving and tracking optimization opportunities by creating a continuous improvement culture.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, including ability to communicate effectively with a senior audience. Excellent technical and business presentation skills.
Strong experience with Microsoft Office tools, in particular Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong financial services experience, including experience supporting senior leaders / executives in a large fast paced environment
5-7 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm (or similar)
Advanced MS Office skills, specifically Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint, in addition to Atlassian Confluence
Able to forge strong internal relationships across a broad range of functions
Able to manage aggressive and competing priorities to achieve successful execution
Able to influence across virtual teams and disparate stakeholder groups
Demonstrated understanding of Enterprise customer level experience with Cloud technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Data Landscape, Architecture Designs, Open Source Technologies, Industry Standards and demonstrated ability to integrate new technologies on premise as well as on the cloud
