JPMorgan Chase Software Engineer in Jersey City, New Jersey

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Responsible for delivery of application enhancements and providing daily support for applications. Provide unit-level design, coding, testing, and integration. Participate in design sessions across several application redesign efforts. Participate in production support and will support business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing. Design, implement, and test all changes needed across each system build and will ensure compliance with all internal software development control processes. Work within a global team to continually improve quality, processes, and practices. Implement time complex efficient data structure and algorithms and provide design solutions to improve application performance and user experience. Mentor junior team members. Work with users and internal teams to ensure the new deliverables meet the business requirements and quality standards. Create POC with latest technologies to find alternative solutions for application improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years of experience as an Associate Projects, Technical Lead, Systems Manager, Systems Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will accept a Master's degree and three (3) years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following skills and technologies: Java; Unix Shell Scripting; JQuery; Apache; Tomcat; Rest Services using JAX-RS; Spring Framework; JVM Tuning; caching technology such as Hazel Cast or Redis; SQL; and Test Driven Development using Junit.
