The core mission of the Controls technology team's is to leverage large datasets for use in various application for monitoring and oversight of investments business in Wealth management. As a Software Engineer, you will be working on exciting new technologies such as Scala, Spark, Kafka, Ignite, S3, Docker Containers , CI/CD and cloud stack to build and deliver solutions for various regulatory & oversight controls applications .
Responsibilities:
Build cutting edge solutions for regulatory needs using cloud-native and on-prem architectures
Provide technical leadership with solutions architecture and build frameworks
Extensive experience in Apache Spark leveraging Java or Scala
Experience in Big Data platforms which should include experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Ignite or similar technologies
Hands on experience building Restful APIs
Develop proactive solutions which enable stakeholders to extract insights and value from data
Serve as coach and mentor to junior team members
Experience in developing software solutions leveraging Test Driven Development (TDD)
Qualifications:
B S/BA degree or equivalent experience
6 + years of software development experience
2+ years of hands-on experience building complex applications using Spark/Scala/Java
Working proficiency in developmental toolsets like IntelliJ, Git, JIRA, Docker, Jenkins, Postman etc..
Knowledge of orchestration /scheduling tools like Airflow , Autosys
Experience working with big data sets in formats such as JSON, XML, Parquet, Avro, CSV
Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
Experience with CI/CD systems e.g. Jenkins and automation / DevOps best practices
Knowledge of software best practices like refactoring, clean code, domain driven design, encapsulation etc.
Knowledge of stream processing platforms such as Apache Kafka or Dataflow is a plus
Familiarity with AWS ecosystem including S3, Glue, EMR, EC2 is a plus
Familiarity of microservices stack based on Elastic Search, Spring Boot, NodeJS, ReactJS is a plus
