Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the team responsible for design, development, testing, and implementation of the strategic data integration services.

  • Development of large scale big data solutions to be used in a large production environment with petabytes of data and integration with ingestion, consumption, analytics, and business intelligence

  • Good understanding big data security practices

  • Establish and drive adoption of best practices for data engineering, component re-use, architecture design and technical standards.

  • Maintain awareness of new / emerging data technologies and their potential application to existing or future service offerings.

  • Manage day-to-day decisions, including request priorities, work assignments and work sequencing; and interfaces with senior management to report on roadmap progress

  • Provide technical leadership to the team and drive solutions to complex problems

  • Work closely with the Product Management and Product owners to do roadmap planning, epic prioritization with a goal for asset deprecation

  • Coach agile teams to develop a continuous improvement culture, delivering velocity and quality.

  • Promote and cultivate team spirit and culture across the global team built on open communication, collaboration, teamwork, trust and integrity

  • Develop, lead and coordinate communications and relationships across multiple IT and product teams.

  • Experience in the following as it relates to software engineering in a mission critical environment:

  • Analyzing complex data systems - failure analysis / root cause analysis

  • Developing, improving and maintaining technical engineering documentation

  • Performance management, Roadmap development

  • Product Management - design, development, testing and integration/transition/transformation

  • Compliance and governance

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • 15-20 years of experience as a proven technology leader with strong data background

  • Domain knowledge in the financial services space will be preferred.

  • Strong experience and leadership in technology modernization strategy, contemporary practices, patterns, and tooling, including, but not limited to Cloud computing. Should have devised/executed large distributed system, fault-tolerant, highly scalable databases and refactoring in accordance with cloud native principals. Understanding of big data technologies/ecosystem and event driven architectural and data modeling principals, API gateway etc

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.

  • Experience of managing business stakeholders and leading a global distributed team. Engage effectively with Product managers.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, an ability to demonstrate analytical thinking and problem solving skills and an excellent work ethic.

  • Successful candidates must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Able to forge productive working relationships with product managers, product owners, business and technology stakeholders and other team members. Define and design business functionality based on an understanding of product strategy, operational, infrastructural, regulatory and market needs.

  • Ability to analyze complex cross functional business and technology inter-connects and work effectively with stakeholders to deliver big programs and ensuring solutions will deliver the required business results.

  • Experience of managing high caliber geographically distributed teams and serve as a role model, providing technical leadership and mentorship. Given global remit it will require working across multiple work streams and teams, flexibility to work with users across different time zones (when required).
