As an experienced Infrastructure Support professional, you'll be making decisions of a global and strategic nature that impact our customers, clients, and businesses around the globe. Your expertise in analyzing complex systems, anticipating problems, and finding ways to mitigate risk, will be key in leading a high performing team to successfully provide first-class infrastructure service to our customers, clients, and businesses around the globe each and every day. By incorporating your knowledge of SAN and NAS Storage platforms, team management and infrastructure automation, you will affect change and lead development of innovative improvements and world-class practices. Your team will be responsible for driving operational stability and reliability in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) operating model, and they'll look to you to provide the technical leadership to move them forward. Develop and support routine operational activities with automation
Manage the Technical SAN and NAS Technical team
Plan and execute virtual migrations for storage infrastructure
Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members
Work closely with peer teams to deliver high availability and optimum performance for customers
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
Familiar with storage products - Storage Area Networks (SAN), Enterprise Storage Arrays, Network Attached Storage (NAS)
5+ years distributed SAN/NAS operational experience running multiple storage technologies
Experience of other SAN/NAS functional roles to supplement operational experience
Intermediate knowledge of large scale Enterprise backup solutions
Ability to identify tactical quick wins, as well as strategic long term remediation options are both essential skills
Organized and self-reliant with proven track record in managing multiple deliverables
Solid verbal and written communication skills, and team working skills
Capable of acting as business liaison, translating business needs to technical requirements and providing point of contact to business and senior management during high impact incidents
Can manage large scale projects
Demonstrates leadership - self starter, self motivated, and require minimal supervision
Development Skill sets including: Python, Cloud frameworks, Angular, and a mindset for automation is a plus
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Windows, Sun Solaris, HP HPUX, IBM AIX, Linux
Advanced business continuity/resiliency knowledge
Must have a strong technology background to understand change requests and to recommend alternate solutions
Specific Storage Administration Expertise:
Advanced experience configuring, deploying, and supporting Netapp Products, EMC Products (ECS and Isilon), and Storage Tools
Intermediate experience configuring, deploying, and supporting EMC Celerra, EMC Atmos
3+ years command line experience on NetApp filers
3+ years experience in distributed storage environments.
3+ years experience in an associated technology (Server, Networks)
Advanced knowledge/experience in creating and troubleshooting snapshot, snapmirror, snapvault, aggregates/qtrees/volumes, multi-protocol access, CIFS and NFS
Advanced experience of VMAX, HUS, SolidFire, ScaleIO, 3Par, XIV, along with associated HW based replication and point in time copy solutions.
Experience with Software Defined Storage is a bonus.
Advanced experience of vendor tools for managing, configuring, and troubleshooting (including performance)
Advanced experience with large switched fabric environment for Brocade & Cisco
In depth experience with storage management CLI’s: EMC Solutions Enabler, Cisco SANOS, Brocade FOS, & Software Defined Storage
Strong performance troubleshooting of EMC VMAX/FAST-VP utilizing EMC Unisphere
Expert understanding of how server behaviors and IO load patterns affect storage (LUN Q-Depth, multipathing, application IO size, etc…).
