JPMorgan Chase Wealth Management, Senior Event Planner, Vice President in Los Angeles, California

The Senior Event Planner will create and execute all aspects of client event experiences from concept, through execution and evaluation for J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank in Los Angeles and Orange County. The event planner will play a key role in the event strategy for the market bringing creative ideas, suggested venues, and proposed content to the market with considerable thought to strategic execution. The job demands interaction with colleagues on the global events team and the larger marketing group, bankers and product partners, and senior management so that we can ensure a consistent and distinctive experience for clients which underscore our business strategies. The person will also work with corporate marketing to suggest, coordinate, and leverage sponsorships and event opportunities. The event team’s goals are to help markets increase client business/deepen existing client relationships, create and drive efficiencies for all internal partners and maintain the J.P. Morgan brand standard at all events. This role demands someone who reacts well under pressure with strong communication skills and accuracy. Long hours and travel required.

The role reports to the Western Region Head of Private Bank Events (who is based in San Francisco) and is a full-time position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understands business objectives and will execute the event strategy that supports business goals

  • Must think strategically and problem solve, must have ability to offer creative solutions

  • Must offer creative event ideas and solutions to help grow business in the Los Angeles and Orange County markets

  • Review and evaluate events to ensure they make sense, drive flows and if they are worth repeating

  • Identify cost efficiencies wherever possible

  • Responsible for event management in Los Angeles and Orange County, supporting other markets in the Western Region as needed

  • Responsible for maintaining budgets and event calendar accordingly

  • Participate in market team meetings, US regional events team meetings and multiple banker meetings as required

  • Function as an integral part of the team

  • Working knowledge of venue site searches, contract negotiations

  • Manage vendor relationships

  • Help create agendas for events

  • Multiple administrative responsibilities (invoice processing; invitation development; creation of nametags, place cards, menu cards, seating, RSVP management and reporting, etc.)

Skills required:

  • A minimum of ten years prior experience in event management related activities

  • Must think strategically; identifies issues and finds a reasonable solution

  • Must be very detail oriented

  • Must be able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines

  • Must be able to handle difficult or demanding personalities

  • Prior experience in budget management and event planning

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint

  • Ability to master various database products

  • Ability to analyze data: see trends, find mistakes, consolidate data, create reports

  • Ability to work early morning and late evening events

  • Must be able to travel

  • Financial services experience is a plus
