JPMorgan Chase Control Manager - Credit Markets - Associate in New York, New York
This role is within Business Control Management (CM) covering the North America Credit business. The team consists of business controls experts who are responsible for managing the end-to-end control environment for the North America Credit business. The North America Credit CM team is part of a wider Markets CM team which reports into the Office of the CFO as well as CIB Finance & Business Management. J.P. Morgan's Credit business offers clients a comprehensive set of market-making, structuring and risk management capabilities across a full spectrum of asset classes.
As a Control Management Associate, you'll be responsible for ensuring the line of business has a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment, identifying and escalating issues with a sense of urgency, and partnering with the business to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner. The team assists in top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation.
Job Responsibilities:
In partnership with stakeholders, evaluate and perform an end-to-end analysis of the business' risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control breaks
Ensure that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols
Perform ongoing analysis of program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) and develop ad-hoc reports as requested to support business-related programs and strategies
Assist with development of Risk & Control Self-Assessment mapping and documentations through participation in end-to-end process walkthroughs and deep dives with assigned business units
Prepare the business for audits and testing as well as assist in business regulatory exams
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
3+ years of experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance preferred; or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business related function/operation
Be highly organized with strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple and competing deliverables
Communicate effectively and comfortably with senior management
Work autonomously to affect change - flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; manages competing priorities to achieve the most effective result and able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment
Process analysis / design acumen - ability to understand a process and associated risk to develop and implement control design
Problem solving / Analytical skills - solid critical thinking, attention to detail and analytical skills; able to synthesize large amounts of data and formulate appropriate conclusions
Ability to make subjective and informed decisions based on output, effectively engage stakeholders, and justify decision making
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) with the ability to develop compelling and meaningful executive presentations that will drive opportunities / recommendation for improvement
