The Bank Controller organization was created in 2013 and is dedicated to supporting the JPMCB and broader Legal Entity end to end agenda in alignment with the Firm’s and Finance’s strategic control priorities. Responsibilities include:

  • Governance and oversight for the integrity and accuracy of JPMCB & JPMCH financial results

  • Developing and reviewing LOB level planning and forecasting analyses for JPMCB & JPMCH

  • Working across functions on JPMCB and other legal entity level operating and strategic issues

  • Supporting the Board

  • Designing, implementing and overseeing an end to end, Firmwide, Reg W governance and oversight framework

  • Defining, establishing and implementing a Firmwide LE simplification strategy and execution framework

  • Sponsoring and driving execution of key Legal Entity related milestones

  • Maintaining strong working relationships with regulators, auditors and internal partners

  • Policy Management of inter-entity reorganizations, capital actions and affiliates support documents

Business Description:

JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association ("JPMCB" or "the Bank"), a nationally chartered bank, is the firm’s primary insured depository institution and flagship subsidiary. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (“OCC”) is JPMCB’s primary regulator and interprets the scope of its powers. A material concentration of JP Morgan Chase’s activities, across every LOB, are conducted through JPMCB including 90% of headcount, 80% of assets and 75% of revenues. The Bank offers a wide range of banking services to its customers both in the U.S. and internationally, including investment banking, financial services for consumers and small business, commercial banking, and private banking.

The Legal Entity Planning and Analysis team is a part of the Bank Controllers team and sits in a unique position in the global finance community. Key responsibilities include governance, oversight, and analytical review of JPMCB and JPMCH’s capital adequacy, financial plans and outlook. Additionally, the team conducts extensive ad hoc financial analysis impacting JPMCB and JPMCH. The team is also critically important in providing financial updates to the OCC, the Board and other management committees.

Job Description:

The Analyst / Associate will be a key member of the Legal Entity Planning and Analysis team and will be responsible for producing analytics on the various topics listed above, as well as forecasts, budgets, stress tests and other ad hoc analyses. The Analyst / Associate will work to understand all aspects of the JPMCB & JPMCH financials and booking models. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing weekly/monthly/quarterly forecasts for P&L and Capital

  • Performing analysis and supporting additional controls associated with capital related external reporting (FFIEC 101, 102, RC-R) and liaising with CM on capital related queries

  • Monitoring JPMCB & JPMCH’s capital adequacy and escalating as appropriate

  • Analyzing and synthesizing quarterly stress testing results

  • Performing detailed and extensive ad hoc data analyses as requested and present results to senior management

  • Improving and automating existing processes and analyses

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting or related field plus 0-4 years of experience

  • Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills

  • Prior experience with capital and/or RWA a plus
