JPMorgan Chase Investment Banking and Corporate Banking Deal Services - Associate in New York, New York

Job Description

As a Deal Services Associate within the Corporate and Investment Banking team, you will collaborate with Product and Coverage teams to manage and supervise operational processes of Investment Banking transactions across Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Lending. You will play a pivotal role in key milestones of the deal lifecycle, assist in audit/regulatory reviews, and resolve control issues while reporting. Additionally, you will engage in meetings with Bankers to proactively manage deal pipelines, identify opportunities, and address potential roadblocks.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Primary point of contact for bankers to coordinate & complete key transactional tasks

  • Facilitate of operational client and business queries

  • Partner with coverage and product bankers, Wholesale KYC Operations (WKO) Client Office and Compliance teams in region to meet local or product specific KYC and AML requirements for Clients and transactions. Coordinate the launch and progress of KYC process

  • Coordinate collection of non-KYC regulatory documentation during transaction execution

  • Conduct analysis and dispositioning of Sanctions, Anti-Corruption, Environmental and Social risks on clients and transactions

  • Participate in bankers' regional meetings to proactively identify operational opportunities or roadblocks

  • Monitor deal controls to ensure milestones are met & achieved in a timely manner

  • Participation in global process enhancements

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • 5+ years previous experience & sound knowledge of investment banking products (Acquisition and Leveraged Finance, Debt Capital CM, M&A,ECM) as well as Global Corporate Banking products & processes

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong decision making capabilities and the ability to identify problems and drive to resolution

  • Ability and drive to take full ownership of processes

  • Strategic Thinking skills: ability to approach problems logically and make informed decisions based on the data

  • Ability to perform analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data

  • Preparing reports stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required to represent data in a visual format that's easy to understand via dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau and Alteryx to communicate insights to stakeholders.

  • Proactive/self-starter with the ability to deliver value-added support to business partners and clients in a dependable, timely and accurate manner

  • PowerPoint skills are required to structure presentations for team's senior management and senior stakeholders

  • Project management skills: planning, time management, strong communication, problem solving, negotiation, organization, critical thinking, decision making skills and conflict resolution

  • Comfortable dealing with clients/senior executives on a regular or ad hoc basis

  • Highly self-motivated to work independently and on broad based teams that cross Lines of Business

  • Strong partnership and coordination skills

  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.
