JPMorgan Chase Investment Sales & Trading Business Manager - Associate in New York, New York

Role Description:

A highly visible role based in New York, the Inv. S&T Business Manager will work directly with the Head of Investment Sales & Trading to drive strategic priorities across a multi-faceted agenda while being responsible for supporting the day-to-day of the business. The candidate will also work closely with a number of functional partners including client facing teams, technology, oversight & control, internal audit, legal, risk, compliance and operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions. The role will help develop and deliver on business strategies and priorities, while also supporting future growth areas for the Investment Sales & Trading organization.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Support the Global Head of Inv. S&T in managing the business, driving strategic analyses/initiatives, preparing for key meetings, reviewing of materials from business partners, and coordinating all aspects of the platform ranging from strategic priorities to day-to-day issues/activities

  • Develop markets oriented presentations for internal and external speaking engagements

  • Support daily inquiries, integrate content and help manage internal communications

  • Drive high priority initiatives within the Inv. S&T organization while partnering with key stakeholders

  • Represent Inv. S&T interests and priorities in key decision making forums

  • Strong ability to problem solve and examine business initiatives with an eye towards client, firm, advisor, and business impact

  • Analyze, synthesize and interpret large amounts of data and information, drawing conclusions and making recommendations for senior management

  • Evaluate effectiveness of processes and controls; proactively identify gaps, define solutions, and execute on process and control improvements

  • Develop a detailed understanding of current-state processes and procedures, identify weaknesses, gaps, opportunities for improvement and propose innovative business solutions required to increase the efficiency of information flow between different business areas

  • Ability to build and foster strong partnerships with cross functional teams (i.e. Marketing, Finance, Middle Office, Controls Management and Compliance) to support key facets of the Inv. S&T organization

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and point of contact with business and control partners

  • Proactive in volunteering for strategic initiatives outside of daily responsibilities even if working with other managers


  • Ability to execute within a fast-paced and demanding environment while managing multiple projects concurrently

We seek candidates with a unique blend of interpersonal and analytical skills who are able to efficiently leverage both qualitative and quantitative resources to understand complex business and financial situations and present solutions. Specific qualifications include:

  • 5+ years of experience in investments/ wealth management business management/ strategy, financial services or a related field

  • Genuine interest in financial markets, investments and macro-level economic trends

  • Working knowledge of investment products and/or capital markets is preferred

  • Proven track record of delivering projects, complex product and/or new business initiatives

  • Strong proficiency with PowerPoint slide creation, Excel and Word required

  • Experience in effectively messaging priorities, initiatives and updates to senior management

  • Broad understanding of JPMorgan Asset Management, and Wealth Management & Investment Solutions specifically

  • The ability to be a dynamic member of a team
