JPMorgan Chase Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack in New York, New York

  • Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks

  • Accountable for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures

  • Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders

  • Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary

  • Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team

  • Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience

  • Experience with Java/J2EE with a deep understanding of the language and core APIs, web services, multi-threaded/concurrent programming, XML, design patterns, Service Oriented Architecture.

  • Experience in implementing Microservices using Spring Boot and Event-Driven architecture, implementation of enterprise systems using DDD, SAGA/ CQRS patterns. Working proficiency in using frameworks such as Axon

  • Converse fluently in the full web technology stack.

  • Plan, design, test, debug and deploy software solutions for managing infrastructure, project management, capacity planning, and operational efficiencies

  • Work in partnership with infrastructure engineers and architects to understand and identify operational improvements

  • Java-related experience with

  • REST/JSON/XML Web APIs Development experience.

  • Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security

  • Testing frameworks - Cucumber, Selenium, Junit. Must have practical experience with unit testing including deep understanding of Mock Testing Frameworks like EasyMock or Mockito

  • Broad and deep understanding of multiple application server platforms including Apache Tomcat, SQL & Database - Oracle, Cassandra, Hbase

  • Ability to absorb problems & present creative solutions within required timeframes.

  • Be self-driven, able to work independently or with multiple teams.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Big data technologies(Kafka, Spark, Storm, Hadoop, HDFS, Solr)

  • Familiarity with UI technologies (Jquery, ReactJS, Bootstrap etc)

  • Cloud/AWS experience

  • Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives

  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
