The Position

We’re looking for a VP Marketing within the newly created Team 8 - Marketing Innovation Lab. Team 8 is about stuff that transforms the company and does things we’re not set up to do today. We’re a SWAT team of innovators participating in high profile, high impact, and agile programs across Chase. We’re also a think tank, an internal start-up. We’ll use controlled experiments to transform decision making into a scientific, evidence-driven process.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, is customer-obsessed, and who is excited about building new technology and customer-facing experiences

He or she will manage the demand of multiple projects, be comfortable working on lean teams, across multiple lines of business and corporate functions and in an always evolving organization. The role will require exploring new cutting edge concepts and disruptive ideas, and embrace design thinking, allowing the business to continuously engage, listen and co-create solutions before introducing these concepts to customers and employees. Our goal is to execute a series of quick-turn-around experiments designed to create real bottom line impact.


§ Work in a test and learn environment that promotes free thinking, rapidly trials new concepts and provides immediate feedback while focusing on accelerating our firm wide One Chase agenda

§ Perform objective analysis of potential opportunities and articulate learnings

§ Identify competitive offerings and assess their strengths and weaknesses

§ Help develop roadmaps to bring innovations to live

§ Promote our lean startup learning process across to partners

Primary Responsibilities

§ In the marketing ecosystem, understanding the clients challenge, which can also include supporting the client is specifying their challenge

§ Lead strategy execution, lab business design, agile development including requirements and user experience management, testing and transition to delivery manager

§ Identify competitive offerings and assess their strengths and weaknesses

§ The role will drive collaboration across the firm, and partner closely with colleagues in Digital, Technology, Analytics, Research, Legal & Compliance, and the Lines of Business.


§ 10+ years of experience in marketing (agency or client side)

§ BS/BA required; MBA preferred

§ Practical Innovation experience . Driving an innovation process from conceptualization through to launch. Proven track record of taking an idea and turning it into impactful results.

§ Experience developing immersive experiences to drive acquisition and engagement

§ Develop roadmaps, program plans, business cases, and realization strategies to support our recommendations.

§ Strategic thinking and story-telling , ability to synthesize distinct data points into a clear strategic set of priorities and gain sponsorship for direction.

§ Experience in marketing, product development, and/or partnership development in verticals such as technology firms, telecom, management consulting, financial services or startups. Including designing gamification experiences, defining user experience needs, creating product value propositions , and developing / executing on roadmaps

§ Leading through influence, with demonstrated experiences setting agenda, and driving business results in an environment with competing priorities.

§ Solid organizational and project management skills, including strong follow through skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, deadlines and work streams

§ Analytical thinker with ability to interpret results and site metrics to drive change

§ Resourceful and results-oriented self-starter, with an ability to thrive in an authentic, feedback-driven culture and “roll-up-your-sleeves” environment

§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills: able to present facts, thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise and convincing manner to senior stakeholders
