JPMorgan Chase Data Architect II in Newark, Delaware

As a Data Architect II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Banking, specifically in the Data Standards and Controls team, your role involves being a key team member responsible for implementing technology data management controls across diverse software applications and platforms. By adopting industry-leading best practices and working in collaboration with teams of technologists, you play a crucial role in ensuring data control compliance across multiple technology domains within various business functions, thereby supporting the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Provides subject matter expertise for data related technology control procedures, including data retention and destruction, technical data quality, data use, and data description and authority controls

  • Supports Application Owners and Information Security Managers with the adoption and evidencing of data related technology control procedures

  • Maintains a knowledge base for data related technology control procedures, including best practice, guidelines and training

  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive process improvements

  • Contributes to the CIB Opinionated Data Architecture (ODA) tooling requirements, including new features to increase efficiency and effectiveness of controls

  • Works in a team environment with changing and competing priorities

  • Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on architecture concepts and 2+ years applied experience

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with business and technology teams, including application owners, data architects and information owners

  • Demonstrated knowledge of data management capabilities, such as data lifecycle management, data quality (DQ) management, metadata management, data classification, data lineage, data privacy, data integration, data visualization and analytics

  • Hands-on practical experience of data management and governance frameworks, approaches, tools, and patterns

  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

  • Solid understanding of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Good understanding of control and risk management concepts with the ability to evaluate controls, procedures, and process flows

  • Knowledge of Financial Services, such as markets, securities services, payments, etc.
