JPMorgan Chase eDiscovery Operations Specialist - Assistant Vice President in Newark, Delaware

As an eDiscovery Operations Specialist - Assistant Vice President within the Legal Discovery Management team, you will perform custodial and/or data source research and identification, along with the preservation, collection, disposition, and/or secure delivery of data within pre-defined Service Level Agreements and turnaround times. In this role you will leverage various eDiscovery tools and/or liaise with internal and external technology partners and other stakeholders to facilitate the execution of these requests. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to broader goals, projects and initiatives across the eDiscovery spectrum in an effort to continuously develop, update and improve our eDiscovery program. To succeed in this role, it is key to have the required skills along with knowledge of the eDiscovery field tools and processes.

Job responsibilities

  • Respond to and fulfill eDiscovery requests across various data sources, including but not limited to electronic communications, voice, structured and unstructured data sources.

  • Coordinate with internal IT and business partners, internal Data Center Operations and external vendors in support of request fulfillment, including restoration of data with appropriate chain-of-custody documentation, where required

  • Maintain a level of understanding of the business uses for the systems from which data is being requested and proactively address questions related to fulfilling such requests

  • Act as a liaison between the eDiscovery team and global systems and data center contacts, including but not limited to tape operations areas/data centers and 3 rd parties, to manage various legal restoration and preservation requests

  • Support the continuous improvement of eDiscovery operational processes globally, including request processing, research, preservation, collection, disposition, delivery, and quality control

  • Communicate and escalate issues and problems to case teams, manage expectations and track to resolution

  • Draft and/or review process management documentation, maintain organized updates and detailed matter/project notes and documentation

Required qualification, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience in either hands-on eDiscovery preservation and collections or in IT L1, L2 Helpdesk or Desktop Support, Infrastructure, or IT project management

  • Familiar, knowledge/use of eDiscovery Electronic Stored Information investigation, preservation, disposition, recovery and analysis of data from a variety of electronic communication, voice and unstructured systems (e.g. MS Exchange, Connected Archive, Lotus Notes, Robocopy, OnTrack, Hard Drives, Assentor, Digital Safe, NICE, Cisco, SharePoint), backup tape infrastructure (ArcServe, TSM, TDP, NetBackup) and structured data systems, databases and/or applications

  • eDiscovery, EDRM (eDiscovery Reference Model), or litigation support related experience

  • Understanding of firm change management processes and procedures (SDLC, etc.) and experience working in a secure environment with sensitive data, including PII

  • Familiar, knowledge/use or understanding of Legal chain-of-custody requirements, Regulatory processes, and basic Federal Rules of Civil Procedure

  • Self-motivated, highly flexible, organized, team-oriented person, with the ability to track multiple workstreams and resolve multiple confidential and/or sensitive, time-critical, and competing priorities and projects, has ability to respond to shifting priorities and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision

  • Project Management, ITIL, Sigma, ACEDS, PMP background
