Senior Application Developer
Senior application developer required to help deliver business functionality across Securities platforms. The role will involve analysis, design, coding and implementation of the business functions/services.
Adheres to Application Engineering guidelines, processes and procedures and champions the use of these within teams, looking for ways in which to continuously improve them by researching emerging IT products, services, processes and methodologies
Contributes to the development of information models
Makes complex modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with high level specifications, application support, and industry standards
Provides design recommendations for developing and integrating programs per written specifications
Utilizes multiple programming languages and software technologies to ensure that applications are fit for purpose and are maintainable going forward
Tests and implements cross-business applications
Manages day to day workload of junior team members, monitoring project milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule and identify / mitigate risk
Provides input into project management team on individuals performance
Develops, trains, and coaches junior team members, including providing on-the-job training
Building J2EE applications in a distributed environment
Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms
Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns
Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Class loading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
Experience in the Spring Framework
Experience with test-driven development
Experience on shell scripting on Unix/Linux
Excellent technical, analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
A team player with excellent communication skills - ability to communicate at all levels of business and technology management and ability to influence effectively
Experience in working effectively with geographically distributed teams
Driven self-starter, highly motivated
