The Benefits Insurance Associate role is a full-time position based in Newark, DE. The Benefits Insurance Associate role is part of the U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy team. The U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy team is responsible for the strategic review, evaluation and implementation of changes to various benefit programs (e.g., medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, LTD), monitoring plan performance, regulations and marketplace trends, and taking an active part in the design and implementation of the firm’s overall wellness initiatives. The Benefits Insurance Associate role is responsible for assisting with performing these functions as it relates to the dental, vision, disability and life insurance plans. This role requires close partnership with the administration team, call center team, payroll team and consultants/vendors that support these benefits plans.
Principal Responsibilities include:
Assist with the plan design of the dental, vision, long-term disability and life insurance plans for employees and retirees
Work with the Insurance Manager to use marketplace and plan usage data to develop and deliver design recommendations, and measure success of strategies adopted; assist with the process and implementation of changes
On an ongoing basis, manage the vendors to ensure operational excellence and drive a superior customer experience. Manage the plans and vendors/processes on an ongoing basis according to the established risk/controls environment and third party vendor management protocols
Participate in the request for proposal processes across the various plans, including engaging with consultants, assisting with implementation, partnering with key internal stakeholders such as technology, administration, payroll and call centers
Review various participant facing communications
Assist with escalated member issues
Participate in surveys and other benchmarking exercises as needed
Qualifications and skills:
Minimum 2 years in corporate benefits, benefits consulting or health plan/health insurance field
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to multi-task, work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple deliverables
Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor’s degree required
