JPMorgan Chase Banker Associate in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Duties: Member of the client facing advisor team responsible for client relationships and actively pursuing new business opportunities. Advise Ultra High Net Worth clients on a variety of wealth management needs including investments, banking, credit and trust and estate planning. Partner with Senior Bankers on new client acquisition activities and retention activities for existing clients through a broad knowledge of wealth management and financial planning tools. Work with 2-3 senior bankers on their book of clients. Liaise between the client and internal support teams. Act as an on-site subject matter expert on client On-Boarding procedures and KYC processes. Advise private business owners on pre-transaction planning process to successfully navigate an exit or an IPO. Use wealth planning tools to educate clients with complex balance sheets, the benefits of thoughtful estate planning. Work with the client’s attorneys, accountants and insurance brokers to formulate a thoughtfully executed estate plan. Utilize knowledge on investment products (equities, fixed income, alternative assets, and structured products) and markets/economic activity to advise clients on building investment portfolios and asset allocations, that are aligned with their long-term goals and objectives. Work with credit executives to structure complex credit deals that fund real estate purchases, acquisition of companies, purchase of airplanes/art or a purchase of a sports team. Formulate and execute strategies to identify, engage, and establish relationships with prospective clients. Utilize prospecting tools to identify qualified leads and engineer targeted prospecting practices. Identify opportunities to build strong relationships with influencers within the community (attorneys, accountants, investment bankers). Collaborate with partners from other lines of businesses (Commercial, Retail, Investment banking, etc.) to build new relationships with prospective clients. Understand the applicable laws and regulations in North America, specifically those which govern the type of activities Bankers can engage in within the wealth management industry.

Minimum education required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.

Minimum experience required: 3 years of experience in the financial services industry working with financial products across a variety of asset classes, or related experience.

Skills Required: Must have experience conducting client due diligence. Must have experience preparing & assisting with client portfolio reviews and delivering financial presentations. Must have demonstrated knowledge of compliance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for the wealth management industry. Must have experience advising clients on financial products and sourcing new clients. Must have experience using Excel including modeling concepts and spreadsheet creation. Must have demonstrated knowledge of investment products used within investment portfolios (equities, fixed income, debt products, alternatives, structured products). Must have demonstrated knowledge of global financial markets, macro/micro economics and the ability to clearly explain these concepts to clients/prospects. Must have demonstrated knowledge of trust and estate planning tools available to clients and prospects (different trust structures, gifting strategies, philanthropy, and entity structures). Must have experience using wealth advisory tools and explaining output to clients and prospects. Must have demonstrated knowledge of lending/banking strategies and how credit is extended/structured to individuals and entities. Must have experience analyzing corporate executive (public companies) compensation structures (proxy statements, options analysis, 10b5-1 plans etc.). Must have demonstrated knowledge of pre transaction planning tools utilized by private business owners (QSBS, entity structures, ownership structures, gifting strategies). Must have experience using prospecting tools to build and qualify lead lists for prospecting efforts. Must have experience with new business development and database/excel functions to analyze large groups of data. Must have experience building a strong network of contacts (lawyers, accountants, investment bankers etc.). Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
