The JP Morgan Chase Digital API Gateway group supports exposing APIs to our external partners. We work closely with the chase Consumer Banking line of business to expose APIs that are intuitive, dependable, and easy to use for our partners. We are seeking passionate result-oriented technologists to drive better, faster, simpler solutions.

As a Digital API design authority, you will work with cross-functional team consisting of business, design authorities, Chase partners and the service provider teams to:

○ Perform API design in conjunction with the API development teams.

○ Enforce API specification standards.

○ Mentor the API developers

○ Design API Gateway configuration

○ Review detailed designs, to ensure appropriate security, scalability, reliability, end user experience, and business reports and analytics

○ Develop proof of concepts, as needed

○ Code Reviews of the APIs.

○ Enhance and manage the API test tools

○ Ensure that the solution conforms to strategic architecture.

○ Work with infrastructure teams to ensure correct setup of servers, load balancers, firewalls, and monitoring across the board.

You will also have a post-project implementation responsibility to monitor product quality, triage any issues and adjust as the project team deems necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field or the foreign equivalent.

  • At least 15 years of hands-on development, with at least 5 in Internet facing applications

  • At least 5 years of hands-on dev lead experience leading teams of 5 - 10 developers

  • Good communication skills in person and over the phone

  • Strong knowledge of various Spring Framework components, Tomcat, JSON, node.js, and REST services

  • Solid understanding of API design and API management

  • 2 - 3 years of experience with an API Gateway solution (APIGEE or API Connect)

  • Experienced in delivering applications through the entire SDLC process

  • Experienced in QA testing and Performance testing techniques

  • Experienced in working with infrastructure teams to set up servers, load balancers, firewalls etc.

  • Experienced in various monitoring tools

  • Experienced in production support

  • Understanding of OWASP, SAML, OAuth, SSL and various other security tools, technologies and guidelines

  • Understanding of enterprise architectures and enterprise integration tools and methodologies

  • Capable of picking up new technologies and developing new solutions
