JPMorgan Chase CCOR - AWM GFCC Advisory - Vice President in Plano, Texas

Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) role responsible for providing policy and regulatory advice/ interpretation to the Asset and Wealth Management (AWM) line of business (LOB) as well as other functional areas (e.g., KYC Operations, Risk, Controls, etc.) with a focus on the AML/KYC program. The person serving in this role will play an important role on the execution and oversight of firm wide AML/KYC program for International Private Banking (IPB) teams covering Latin America and Global Families Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in various forums with AWM First Line of Defense, Risk, GFCC, GFC Legal, Client Operations, Quality Control and Assurance, Governance and Controls functions among others to maintain oversight and determine applicability/adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies and maintain oversight.

  • Identify financial crimes compliance Risk/Control issues and provide guidance on solutions to resolve, including end-to-end tracking of any identified risks and actions taken through appropriate resolution.

  • Perform and/or assist with independent monitoring of LOB initiatives implementation against firm-wide policies and/or specific requirements in accordance with Global KYC Standards.

  • Provide compliance oversight of relevant LOB AML/KYC Policies & Procedures, Issues/Action Plans and associated remediations.

  • Keep management and senior leaders apprised of regular updates on key issues and emerging risks.

  • Contribute with feedback on BSA/AML Risk Assessments and Risk Tolerance Evaluations for AWM.

  • Collaborate in the evaluation of new and or expanded business initiatives (NBIA) and post-initiative reviews (PIRs).

  • Review and provide feedback to customer escalations involving AML events, negative news, higher risk clients and/or ad-hoc events.

  • Assist with both ad-hoc and scheduled requests arising from regulatory bodies as well as Compliance Testing and Internal Audit.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in Spanish and/ or Portuguese required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with USA PATRIOT Act, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and/ or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations preferably within the financial industry. Experience in AML Advisory and/or other AML/KYC Compliance or similar function roles strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of AML/KYC legal and regulatory requirements and/or industry best practices

  • Ability to lead, take initiative, direction and deliver against tasks with minimal supervision

  • Ability to independently make decisions, multi-task and prioritize/adjust workload

  • Strong oral/presentation and written communications skills to efficiently and effectively articulate a compliance opinion and/or requirement

  • Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills

  • Skilled in building rapport and maintaining relationships

  • Ability to multi-task and manage several projects under compressed timelines

  • Audit, Regulatory &/or Testing experience a plus

  • Strong PC Skills including Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint and other reporting
