JPMorgan Chase Client Tax Associate II in Plano, Texas

As a Client Tax Associate II in the Merchant Services team, you will be part of a team working closely with the business to design, build and operate tax technology processes. You will assist the Tax Manager and other team members to monitor compliance with domestic and international Sales, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Value-Added Tax (VAT) and similar taxes and partner with the business to enhance processes and procedures related to these taxes. You will work with Merchant Services Operations Team to establish and monitor appropriate controls to improve tax compliance.
Job responsibilities
Partner with the Product and Technology Teams, as a tax consultant to build new system functionality to comply with new tax regulations and develop/automate reports to analyze tax calculations performed by internal processing platforms
Support the integration of acquired businesses and new products into Merchant Services and JPMorgan Chase (JPMC)Tax Operations processes and systems
Assist the business in dealing with complex tax issues while partnering with Corporate Tax and outside advisers
Advise the business on how to incorporate regulatory tax changes into the operating and systems environment
Provide support to salespersons, customer service, account executives and partner channels to respond to customer questions or obtain appropriate tax documentation
Manage monthly and quarterly state filings; identify and research tax reporting or compliance issues
Analyze and review transactions and tax calculations performed by internal processing platforms for accuracy and completeness
Reconcile billing systems, general ledger tax accounts, and tax reporting systems of record
Update policies and procedures and manage recertification process
Perform various other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor's degree Business/Accounting/Finance or similar degree
Minimum 3 years of relevant tax, financial analysis, or technical product experience
Knowledge of various financial systems and software applications and the ability to extract and utilize the information from these systems for operations and internal controls.
Excellent analytical, data management and mathematical skills
Controls and risk management aptitude
Attention to detail and ability to work independently
Ability to be a self-starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills explaining tax and financial issues in understandable ways to business teams and customers while working directly with project teams on tax functionality
Demonstrated ability to positively interface with other departments, teammates, colleagues, and senior management
Excellent multi-tasking and prioritization skills
High-level of Microsoft Office skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience in process improvement and process mapping
Project management experience
