JPMorgan Chase Portfolio Banker - Middle Market Banking- Executive Director in San Antonio, Texas

As a Portfolio Banker in Middle Market Banking, you will be tasked with the development and maintenance of client relationships, risk management, and coordination with various sectors of the organization. Your role will involve deepening existing client relationships, staying abreast of industry trends, and promoting efficiency through automation. Additionally, you will manage AML/KYC due diligence, client relationship management, process credit requests, and ensure that client operational needs are serviced promptly and with high quality.

Job Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and coverage of clients from an AML and reputational risk perspective, with a focus on the clients business, management team, strategy, product usage and account activity. The Portfolio Banker will have regular client calling requirements

  • Creation and build-out of a modest prospecting list and effort

  • Timely completion of all AML/KYC due diligence; includes the dynamic updates to Due Diligence Forms that reflect true relationship knowledge

  • Oversight, escalation and resolution of any AML-identified compliance issues, as well as any reputational or negative media issues, in coordination with Middle Market banking management and the appropriate escalation forum

  • On-going client relationship management and responsiveness, including face to face meetings with the treasury and finance staff at the client company, documenting these meetings with call reports and maintaining Customer Knowledge Center system updates

  • Process all credit requests, including requests for amendments and waivers, in coordination with the credit underwriters. Work with our service organization (either locally or through the national service center) to resolve service related incidents in the portfolio

  • Conjunction with the CSP, be responsible of ensuring client operational needs are serviced in a timely and high quality manner. The Portfolio Banker will also have responsibility for annual coverage review of product sets and delivering the products and services of the firm to clients

  • Coordinate, as appropriate, client account exits and engage the appropriate processes with the Commercial Bank Escalation and Client Service exit teams. The Portfolio Banker should work diligently to identify opportunities for current accounts as well as identify accounts that are not appropriate for coverage

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities

  • At least 7 years of relationship management (including sales), credit underwriting experience or equivalent experience.

  • Strong client-facing skills; Polished, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • Strong investigatory, due diligence and risk analysis skills

  • Able to present risk issues in a succinct and cogent manner to senior leaders

  • Diligent, detail-oriented and thorough

  • Persistent and willing to follow through to resolve and document issues appropriately and in a manner in keeping with sound risk management practices

  • Able to work independently, multi-task and handle a sizeable account load

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, and completion of a formal bank sponsored credit training program or formal training or experience in an underwriting role

  • Previous treasury and client service experience is strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with loan and other contractual documentation highly desirable

  • Familiarity with complex client organization structures highly desirable
