JPMorgan Chase Senior Finance & Business Management Researcher - Associate in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota

Join the JPMorgan Business Research Center (BRC) is a global network of information professionals responsible for obtaining company, industry and economic research and providing it in a synthesized format to JPMorgan investment bankers and executives worldwide. The BRC gathers this information from electronic database resources, public filings and records, media outlets and financial industry sources to provide timely and cost-effective intelligence to the JPMorgan community

As a Senior Researcher in the JPMorgan Business Research Center, you will be responsible for fielding inquiries from bankers on financial matters, industry sectors, team members, economics companies, transactions, markets, and demographics. You will be expected to manage time-sensitive demands, while utilizing the most cost-efficient sources. This role provides an opportunity to work as part of a larger global team, providing high-quality, professional client service. You will also have the chance to master new databases and remain up to date with various data sources.

High level, experienced researcher who will field inquiries from bankers on financial matters, industry sector data, individuals, economic data, company data, transactions, and demographics. Those with a Masters of Library Science degree preferred. Must be well versed in Refinitiv, S&P/CapIQ, Factiva, IHS, MergerMarket, Bloomberg, & Dealog, to name but a few. Researcher must manage time-sensitive demands, while utilizing the most cost-efficient sources. Position entails being in the office at least three days per week and remote for the other two.

Job Responsibilities

  • Field inquiries from bankers on financial matters, industry sectors, individuals, economics companies, transactions, markets, and demographics.

  • Be well versed in Factset, Refinitiv, S&P, CapIQ, Factiva, Westlaw, IHS, MergerMarket, Bloomberg, Dealogic and other data bases.

  • Must manage time-sensitive demands, while utilizing the most cost-efficient sources.

  • Clearly communicate findings to BRC clients;

  • Provide some administrative duties to support the team & management;

  • Perform as part of larger global team;

  • Provide high-quality, professional client service;

  • Adhere to departmental billing protocols;

  • Work quickly and multi-task.

Required Qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Bachelors degree from accredited university

  • Masters degree in Library & Information Science (or equivalent experience)

  • At least 4+ years experience in related research

  • Strong understanding of finance, economics, and other industries

  • Name recognition of bulge bracket broker research firms and major U.S. corporations.

  • Willingness to master new databases and remain up to date with Factset, Refinitiv, S&P/CapIQ, Factiva, Lexis, IHS, MergerMarket, Bloomberg, Dealogic & Boardview.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, prioritizing multiple projects
