Vice President, E-Discovery Manager - Cybersecurity Operations
The Vice President, E-Discovery Manager will be a member of the Digital Forensics and Analytic Services Leadership Team, helping with the development of team strategies while expanding and improving the portfolio of services offered to internal customers. Additionally, the candidate will manage a high-performance team of forensic analysts providing essential E-Discovery services supporting the Firm's legal discovery needs. A successful candidate will have a proven record of independently handling and leading large scale, complex eDiscovery engagements, working closely with business partners and stakeholders ensuring timely completion of tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Some, but not all, of the diverse experience expected from a candidate for this position would include the following:
Lead a team of forensic analysts fulfilling tasks of data acquisition, research, and analysis in support of litigation needs.
Manager duties may include case management, assignment, quality assurance reviews, setting team goals and priorities, and guiding career growth.
Coordinate with litigation case managers and legal operation team to ensure the preservation and analysis of ESI is properly conducted and within the appropriate service level agreements.
Perform proactive reviews of innovative technology solutions and current procedures with a focus on continued growth and improvement.
Possesses a security-related mindset to identify gaps and help implement the necessary controls to mitigate risk.
Leads high visibility and complex discovery cases while collaborating with senior leadership on strategy and progress.
Possesses the ability to assess challenging e-discovery requirements and present reasonable paths to successfully execute an objective quickly.
Works closely with vendors to identify and raise product issues and/or feature enhancement opportunities, test and verify issue remediation, and oversee product changes impacting eDiscovery operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or other Technology related field preferred.
8+ years of experience working in e-discovery, computer forensics, cybercrime investigations, and other related technical fields with a combination of both public and private sector experience preferred.
Demonstrate an expert understanding of eDiscovery and digital forensic tools, techniques, and concepts used in the acquisition and analysis of electronically stored information (ESI).
Demonstrate a proficient understanding of the EDRM and eDiscovery best practices.
Understands the importance of chain of custody and the preservation of metadata while collecting digital content from physical and network locations.
Expert knowledge of computer forensic best practices and industry standard methodologies for investigating host-based and network analysis.
Strong understanding of network architecture, domains, trusts, VPNs, etc.
Fundamental knowledge of common cloud architectures (MS Azure, AWS, and GCP).
Experience working with industry standard forensic tools (X-Ways, EnCase, Volatility, Axiom, SIFT, Cellebrite, etc.)
Experience working with common eDiscovery platforms (RelativityOne, EnCase Information Assurance, M365 Purview, Google Vault, etc.)
RelativityOne administration experience is a plus.
The ability to automate tasks using a scripting language (PowerShell, Python, Perl, Ruby, Bash, etc.) is a plus.
Able to work either independently or in a team to conduct e-discovery and forensic examinations.
Able to articulate and visually present complex investigation and analysis results.
Strong attention to detail in conducting forensic analysis combined with an ability to accurately record full documentation in support of the investigation.
The ability to coordinate, work with and gain the trust of business stakeholders to achieve a desired objective.
Industry standard digital forensics certifications (GCFA, GNFA, GCFE, ENCE, etc.) are a plus.
Industry standard information security technology certifications (CISSP, CISM, etc.) are a plus.
Membership and participation in relevant professional associations.
Able to work under pressure in time-critical situations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Ability to communicate effectively with business representatives in explaining forensic findings clearly and where necessary, in simple terms.
