JPMorgan Chase Java Lead Software Engineer with Kafka and Kubernetes in Wilmington, Delaware

As a Java Lead Software Engineer with Kafka and Kubernetes at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Connected Commerce team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

  • Code in one or more general purpose programming languages ( Java/J2EE systems including JSP Based Web applications and SOA based business services using J2EE/Web Services)

  • Understands of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement

  • Experience Utilizing Web Services and Java RMI technologies to improve interface/API and significantly enhance integration capability between front-end and back-end systems.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience

  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s)

  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods

  • AWS or Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, asynchronous messaging such as Kafka, RabbitMQ etc.

  • Experience with Relational or NoSQL Datastores such as Cassandra, PostgreSql, GAIA Oracle Services, Graph Databases

  • Knowledge abt data modelling and MDD

  • Performance Testing experience with Blazemeter / JMeter and automation experience with Cucumber / Automated Functional Testing

  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages Java, Spring, Spring Boot, SpringMQ

  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement

  • Solid design, coding, testing and debugging skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies, such as JavaScript or React

  • Exposure to distributed development architecture and bpmn modelling
